My hope and faith has truly been tested by all that is happening in United States. As a 68 year old American, born and raised in United States, I am appalled and ashamed by the government’s blatant divisive, racist, violent and inhuman dictatorship behavior. America is known as a constitutional republic, where the people hold the ultimate power by electing leaders to govern on their BEHALF. The government was meant to operate under constitutional laws that limits power and protects individual rights.

Unfortunately, the current government is ignoring or dismantling long standing laws and practices, and replacing rivals with loyalists to sway decisions and outcomes. Americans can’t even rely on the ultimate authority of the Supreme Court of United States. Because it’s making decisions allowing the government’s continued efforts to ignore the Constitution. Ultimately supporting the government’s dictatorship rule. It is a sad state of affairs, when high ranking officials take oaths sworn to uphold the laws and constitution of this country are instead dismantling both. All to have ultimate power, control, wealth and supremacy for a select group. Not what is for the best for ALL Americans.

So yes, I am disheartened as I watch the brutal violent kidnapping and deportation of immigrants, even those here legally. The wiping out Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) intended to remedy past and future discrimination. The raiding of an apartment complex at 10:30pm in a predominately Black neighborhood. Dragging out families, including children, on the guise of looking for immigrants and/or criminals. With no warrants, and no regard for their rights or their belongings. The United States of America is going through a dark unlawful unconstitutional period at the hands of high ranking government officials. Determined to forcefully and violently strip the rights and freedoms of anyone deemed an enemy.

How does one not feel a sense of hopelessness living in a country riddled with deceit, injustice, brutality, lawlessness and racism from leaders of the government. For me, the only answer is reaffirming my faith and hope in the Heavenly Father. Throughout the day, I openly talk to God seeking help, courage, and the kind of peace that only comes with belief in his love and power. I also thank him for his grace and blessings which helps me refocus on the good in the present moment.

The following scriptures restored my faith and hope reminding me God is in control not man:

Psalms 36:1-2 “do not fret or be envious of those who do wrong, because like the grass they will soon wither away”.

Psalms 37: 10-11 “In a little while the wicked will be no more, but the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity”.

Psalms 94: 9 &11 “ The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile”.

Psalms 94: 22-23. The Lord is my fortress, and God my rock in whom I take refuge. He will repay them for their sins, and destroy them for their wickedness”.

Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear or be dismayed for I am with you and will strengthen and help you”

Isaiah 40: 28 “Don’t you know? “Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom”.’

Isaiah 40: 31” “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”.

Psalms 4:8. “In peace I will lie down and sleep for you alone Lord give me peace”.

My faith tells me God is in control not man, and His understanding exceeds man’s understanding. I know he is always with me supporting me with his unfailing love. The government’s dictatorship behavior will not last.
